Banking / Retail Automation and Self-Service is the pioneer event on Banking Automation in
Brazil. It is also the only event in the country that acknowledges the affinity of the financial services and
retail segments, opening space for the discussion of the main technology advancements with common interests, and
their strategic and operational benefits. Although traditionally the financial services sector concentrates a
larger slice of IT investments, the recent advancements in the in-store banking area, payment systems,
self-service and e-commerce bring increasingly closer the two sectors that benefit from examining cases and
solutions developed by large and small companies in each one. Having additionally in common the large credit
market, now in fast expansion in the country, the two sectors exchange knowledge and make easier their decisions
by following the technology developments directed more specifically to each one. Therefore, although with a
higher emphasis on Banking Automation, ABACO fulfills an important role in the synergistic process of the
integration of the two sectors and attracts vendors and attendees with specific and also common interests from
both areas.
The main subjects of the event include new
Self-Service challenges, Wireless and Mobile, Voice Recognition, RFID,
Electronic Billing, Home Brokers, Security, Digital Certification, Fraud control,
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), IT Governance, Outsourcing, among others. The
subjects are covered in speeches, cases, panels and debates at the Conference, and in demonstrations and folder
distributions at the Exhibition. The technologies related to those subjects are the basis of the event, either
as hardware with devices like servers, terminals, networks, etc., software solutions, systems or specific
applications, as well as services like data centers, storage, call-centers, consulting, education, etc..
ABACO/2006 – 16th Exhibition and Conference on
Banking / Retail Automation and Self-Service, will take place on October 18 and 19, 2006
at the Frei Caneca Convention Center - São Paulo, Brazil, at a moment when most companies are elaborating their
2007 budgets and are assessing most data on new products, services and developments that will be available for
the next year. The Exhibition is open freely to the public involved with no registration fees, on both days,
from 12:00pm to 08:00pm. Exhibitors receive a large number of printed invitations to mail to their customers and
prospects for the Exhibition, besides images to be used in e-mail marketing. After the event the exhibitors
receive a complete list with all visitors as well as conference attendees. The Conference takes place on both
days, from 08:45am to 06:30pm and registration is required. There are several participation options, like
sponsorship, booth, speech, merchandising, etc.. The options and their conditions are listed in this site. The
expected attendance for this new edition of the event is 1,000 exhibition visitors and 300 attendees for the
conference. The expected industry participation is 60% financial services, 25% retail and 15% other. As usual in
the events organized by DIB & Associados and RPM Brasil, these participants are expected to correspond to 60%
high and medium management, 20% technical and professional levels, and 20% administration and marketing areas.
The Organizers:
DIB & Associados and RPM Brasil have organized and promoted events in the
financial, retail and card markets for more than 17 years, running close to 30 large events
combining conference and exhibition, besides seminars, courses and other related activities. The organizers are
responsible for the launching an running of CARDS, whose 11th annual edition, confirmed its
leadership in all Latin American card sector, reaching the expressive numbers of 60 exhibitors, 450
conference delegates, and 1,400 visitors with a total number of 2,500 participants, an
increase of more than 25% over the previous edition.
