CARDS – International
Exhibition and Conference for Cards, Services and
Technologies is the largest Brazilian trade
show for the cards business, held every year on the
month of April, in the busiest city of the country –
São Paulo. CARDS is one of the first trade
shows of the year, and a good indicator of the
direction and pace the cards industry will follow the
rest of the year. In the period of three days of the
event the main technologies, applications,
developments, solutions and trends involving credit
cards, debit cards, vouchers, payment and pre-paid
cards are exhibited, presented, negotiated and
planned, signaling the beginning of a new market
evolution cycle.
CARDS is addressed to all the
companies that issue cards as a means of
identification, access, payment, information storage,
advertising, etc., like banks, retailers,
transportation, healthcare, vouchers, service
providers and others with an emphasis on the related
business accomplishments. CARDS also targets
card processors and card service companies in general.
The
conference is addressed to the presentation and
discussion of cases, experiences, strategies and
results of the use of technology as an enabling factor
for the evolution of business and the creation of new
products and services. The exhibition, open freely to
the interested public, consists, among exhibitors and
visitors, of the main technology and service vendors,
their associates and users, establishing the show as
the most appropriate time of the year for the
announcement and introduction of innovations. Having
received the recognition and institutional support of
the bankers, retailers an cards associations, the show
clearly demonstrates the advances of the cards
industry in the country.
CARDS audience
consists of a highly influential group of around 400
professionals and executives from many areas involved
directly or indirectly with the cards business and
technology like bank CIO's, card product managers,
customer service managers, outsourcers, project
leaders, marketing product managers, vendors,
consultants, human resources professionals, etc. Most
of them are decision-makers, and usually interact
intensively with speakers, vendors and other
participants.
The
exhibition consists of some 40 key technology and
service vendors aimed at the cards market, visited
openly by more than 2,000 executives and professionals
from banking, retail, transportation, health care,
insurance and other related industries, additionally
to the conference attendees.
CARDS/2003, the event's 8th
edition, will be held on April 07 - 09,
2003 at
the Frei
Caneca Convention Center - Rua Frei Caneca,
569 - São Paulo, Brazil. The general theme will be "Cards Evolution: New Migration Fronts and the Supporting
Technologies". The event will
discuss the evolution of the cards industry, the
growth of the payment applications, the penetration of
cards business towards countryside regions, the
inclusion of lower income population, key aspects of
the cards role in e-commerce, the chip migration and
many other subjects to be covered in speeches and
discussion panels by the most distinguished players of
the marketplace. The event will start with a tutorial named "Private
Label - Your Company's Own Card", on April
7th, addressed to companies interested in issuing
their own branded cards or interested in participating
in regional card processor programs, that are becoming
more and more available in the expanding cards market
in the country. The conference and the exhibition will
be held on April 08 and 09. Market leaders and the
main players, in the many segments involved, will be
participating.
Parallel to CARDS/2003, at the
same site and period of time, the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference for Identification and
Security Technologies - SEG/2003 will
be held, an
event that covers solutions and experiences on one of
today's most complex and requested subjects –
security – both
on the identification for the physical access to
corporative areas or logical access to information and
systems, and for the protection and preservation of
information from all forms of electronic attacks,
invasions, fraud and contingencies.

SEG – International Exhibition
and Conference for Identification and Security Technologies is
an annual trade show that covers one of today's most
complex and requested subjects – security – both on the
identification for the physical access to corporate areas or
logical access to information and systems, and for the
protection and preservation of information from all forms of
electronic attacks, invasions, fraud and contingencies.
SEG is one of the first trade shows of the year,

restricted to financial services companies – naturally the
most targeted for fraud and invasions, but reach today any
company whose operational continuity and the availability
and quality of large amounts of data are critical for
success and survival.

besides development on new technical bases related to the

indirect participation in the security matters of their
companies, additionally to the conference attendees.
SEG/2003, the event's 2nd edition,
will be held on April 07 - 09, 2003 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center - Rua Frei Caneca, 569 - São Paulo, Brazil. The general theme
will be "Identification and Information Security:
Technology Advances and Perspectives". The event
will start with a tutorial, on April 7th, named "Strategic
Security Planning" addressed to those professionals
working in information security planning and implementation
for businesses in general. The conference and the exhibition
will be held on April 08 and 09. Market leaders and the main
players, in the many segments involved, will be
participating.
Parallel to SEG/2003 another trade show will
be held, at the same site and period of time: CARDS/2003 – 8th International
Exhibition and Conference for Cards, Services and
Technologies, the largest Brazilian trade show for
cards business. The
exhibition hall for SEG/2003 will be an extension of CARDS hall, and the conference will have an independent and specific
agenda.
