OUTLINE
CARDS
is the
largest Brazilian trade show on credit/debit cards, payment systems, services
and technology. The event is held annually in São Paulo - Brazil, and is
already in its sixth edition – CARDS/2001.
Including a workshop and a two days conference and exhibition, the event is
focused on showing the main technologies and business trends affecting cards
usage and manufacturing, and on discussing the development of the several areas
of application of cards and their related devices. Most of the topics included
in the conference are concerned with the use of technology as an enabling factor
for the evolution of business and the creation of new products and services. The
exhibition, open freely to the interested public, assembles, among exhibitors
and visitors, the main technology and services vendors, their associates and
users, establishing the show as the most significant time of the year for the
announcement and introduction of innovations. Having received the recognition
and institutional support of the bankers, retailers an cards associations, the
show clearly demonstrates the advances of the cards industry in the country.
CARDS
is addressed to all the companies that issue cards as a means of identification,
access, payment, information storage, advertising, etc., like banks, retailers,
transportation, healthcare, vouchers, service providers and other businesses
with an emphasis on the related business accomplishments. CARDS
also addresses card processors and card service companies in general.
CARDS
audience consists of a highly influential group of some 250 professionals and
executives from many areas involved directly or indirectly with the cards
business and technology like bank CIO's, card product managers, customer service
managers, outsourcers, project leaders, marketing product managers, vendors,
consultants, human resources professionals, etc. Most of them are
decision-makers, and usually interact intensively with speakers, vendors and
other participants.
The
exhibition hall congregates some 30 key technology and service vendors aimed at
the cards market, and is visited openly by more than 1,000 executives and
professionals from banking, retail, transportation, health care, insurance and
other related industries, additionally to the conference attendees.
CARDS/2001,
the event's 6th
edition,
will be held on April 09 - 11 at the AMCHAM Business Center - Rua da Paz, 1431 -
São Paulo. The general theme will be “Cards
Phase II – The Generalization of Applications and the Opportunity of
Expansion”. The event will discuss the spreading out of the cards
industry, the growth of the payment application, the key aspects of the cards
role in e-commerce, the chip migration, the standards adherence and many other
subjects to be covered in speeches and discussion panels by the most
distinguished players of the marketplace. The event will start with an workshop
on cryptography on April 9th, addressed to professionals with a technical
background that need to know more about that methodology for data security. The
conference and the exhibition will be held on April 10 and 11. Market leaders
and the main players, in many segments involved, will be participating.
